Marteyn Naykhoff will hold a lecture during DBV-Convention congress
The DBV-Convection congress 2017 will take place in the Ahorn- Sportpark sport complex, Paderborn. It will last during three days, 13 January – 15 January 2017.
Marteyn Nijhoff will participate in this event. A talented coach of the Dutch Baseball and Softball Association belongs to the most famous lectures of Europe in sphere of coaches’ training. This time he will give the lecture on the hitting theme.
The sportsman had been playing for nine years in the Major League of Netherlands. When his career as a player had finished, he received a degree in the field of Sport Science and became a coach. Mr. Nijhoff has a great experience in various fields of education and training of baseball talents. He was a coach and lecturer of baseball and softball in schools, camps and universities. In 2005 he became a coordinator of pitchers in the Rotterdamer Unicorns Baseball Academy and one year later he founded the Bixie Baseball Academy. From 2008 to 2010 he was a head coach of “Rottrdam” in the second Dutch League, and then he was appointed as a coordinator of all sport academies of Netherlands. In 2010 he began to deal with motor training issue. In order to optimize methods of Dutch baseball he closely cooperates with Frans Bosch, who is the leading scientist in this sphere. Since 2016 he has been holding a position of consultant of training methods in “Pittsburgh Pirates” and in the Olympic Committee of Netherlands.
In addition to the post of academy coordinator and coordinator of all youth teams of KNBSB (Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation) he is also an important part of the coaching stuff as he is a coach of pitchers of the Netherlands national team U18. Also he plays the main role in the creation of the KNBSB National Academy. Among his pupils 12 players have signed the contract with the MLB teams and 21 of them have entered the American universities.
The baseball seminar will take place during the DBV- Convection congress from Friday evening till Sunday. One can register for the participation online on the website. Tom O’Connell, Derek Johnson, Martin Helmig, Ueli Wermut, Troy Williams and André Lachans have also confirmed their participation. They will speak at the congress among the other famous speakers.
