Last week the Atlanta Braves signed 26-year-old right-handed pitcher Elian Leyva to a minor league contract. Born and raised in Cuba he pitched for nine seasons in the Serie Nacional. In 2016 he played for CB Barcelona in the Spanish Division de Honor. He had an ERA of 0.70 with 82 strikeouts and 17 walks in 64 innings. He then signed with the Mexican League club Rojos del Aguila de Veracruz and now signed with the Braves.
