The United States and Korea will play in the Gold Medal Game of the WBSC U18 Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada.

The US team already was qualified since a 2-0 win over Korea in the Super Round Robin on Friday. Korea then beat Japan on Saturday to follow. Canada and Japan will play for third place.

Meanwhile in the consolation round the Netherlands and Italy squared off in a prestigious game on Saturday evening. The Dutch team prevailed 2-1 thanks to eight strong innings by Donny Breek and a tie-breaking run by Tijmen Takke in the bottom of the seventh.
