Chinese Taipei get started the consolation round of the WBSC U18 Baseball World Cup 2017 with the win against Mexico. Chinese Taipei used a fourth inning 7 run rally to beat Mexico with the score 9-1.

At the beginning of the 4^th inning the second baseman Tseng Han Yu dropped a bunt for a base hit. Soon Mexico allowed 2 more runs and Martin Rodriguez had to leave the mound. One more run scored by designated hitter Tai Pei Lin.

Chinese Taipei added 2 runs in the seventh thanks to hits by Tai Pei Lin and Li Yu Chuan and a little help from a defensive error.

Mexico finally got on the scoreboard in the eighth with the help of Sanchez Obeso.
