Week two in the Italian Baseball League
In the Italian Baseball League week two was completed on Saturday with a pair of doubleheaders and a couple of night games. Angel Service Nettuno handed reigning champion Unipol Bologna their first loss with a 6-4 win. On Friday Bologna had prevailed. Federico Giordani had two hits and two RBI for the guests. Andrea Sellaroli scored twice. Osman Marval had three hits for Bologna. Yuri Morellini pitched five scoreless innings. Andrea Pizziconi got charged with the loss.
T&A San Marino meanwhile was able to complete the sweep. They once again celebrated a 3-1 win over ASD Rimini. They already had won with the same result on the evening before. Gabriele Ermini and Pierangelo Cit broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the eighth. Tommaso Cherubini picked up the win, Carlos Teran took the loss.
Parmaclima handed Polisp. Padule a pair of losses in a doubleheader. In the afternoon game Parma won 10-1. Lorenzo Maestri went 4-for-4 with a solo home run. Stefano Desimoni scored twice and drove in two. Yordany Scull accounted for the lone Padule run with a solo home run in the first. In game two Parmaclima prevailed 6-2. Jose Gonzalez pitched six one-hit innings for the win. He struck out eight. Adolfo Gomez collected two RBI.
Tommasin Padua and Novara settled for the split. In part one of the twin bill Diego Fabiani, Enrico Crepaldi and Matteo Spada combined for nine scoreless innings in a 7-0 shutout. Giuseppe Sciacca went 3-for-4 with a home run and five RBI. In game two Novara won 3-0. Jonnathan Aristil punched out ten in six two-hit, two-walk innings for the win. Nathanael Batista had two of the three RBI. Luis Alvarez went deep.
