The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) has decided to postpone next European baseball Championship. Thus it will be held in 2019 in Bonn. Since baseball will be returned to the “Olympic Games 2020” program, European Championship will become qualification for teams before the Olympics. German baseball and softball federation (DBV) along with «Bonn Capitals» team had reported that as before they will take the lead in championship’s organization. “The importance of this tournament has increased because the winner will not only receive the title but an opportunity to represent Europe at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, as well”,-  unanimously said DBV President Mirko Heid and “Capitals” Chairman Udo Schmitz. Championship will be held in the usual format. The only change is that this year European baseball championship will be shortened from ten to nine game days.
