Stijn van der Meer replaces Chris Garia on Dutch roster
23-year-old shortstop Stijn van der Meer of the Houston Astros is replacing outfielder Chris Garia on the roster of the Netherlands for the 2017 World Baseball Classic. The MVP of the European Championship made his pro debut last summer for the Greenville Astros, where he batted.
