Thomas DeWolf leaves «Mainz Athletics» for «Mannheim Tornados»
“Mannheim Tornados“ adds one more new player – belgian Thomas DeVolf leaves „Mainz Athletics“ and will join champion of the First Bundesliga “Mannheim Tornados”.
It will be his fourth Bundesliga club after the „Tubingen Hawks“, „Stuttgart Reds“ and „Mainz Athletics“. He signed with the A’s midway through the season after his stint with independent league baseball in the United States was over after five games.
There he became one of the best attacking players in the league – hit .444/.640/1.156 with 10 home runs, 33 runs and 25 RBI in just 15 games with „Mainz Athletics“ during the regular season. In the end they won the German championship for the second time after 2007.
DeVolf is one of the 6 newcomers in “Mannheim Tornados”: Orlando del Muro (from „Berlin Sluggers“), Gianfranco Rizzo (from „Tommasin Padua“), Francisco Gonzalez (from „Southampton Mustangs“), head coach Dan Hasbenda (from „Deggendorf Dragons“) and sports director Martin Helmig.

I like Devolf’s play. He reaches results with everyone team. Maybe First baseball Bundesliga will open for him some new opportunities. I am sure, he will show a great results in future games. Because, the team with his participation always reaches a high position. I believe, everyone wants to have such player in his team. I am looking forward to watch the games with him.
