From September 18 to 22, the “Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier” was played in Bologna and Parma, Italy. 6 countries participated in the competition: the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Israel, Czech Republic and South Africa.

According to the results of the championship, Israel’s National Baseball Team won the “Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier”. Thus, the country secures a spot in the baseball tournament in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The Netherlands defeated Italy and closed at the second place of the tournament. In this way, the Dutch team will have another opportunity to go to the Olympics, playing in the “Final Olympic Qualifying Tournament” in early 2020. Thanks to an impressive finish of the tournament, the Czech Republic placed third.
