MLB organizations had to do some cleaning up with their rosters these past days, as they had to set their 40-man rosters in preparations for the upcoming rule 5 draft, which will be held at the end of the Winter Meetings in December in Orlando.

The Pittsburgh Pirates traded South African infielder Gift Ngoepe to the Toronto Blue Jays for a player to be named later. The 27-year-old became the first Africa-born player to reach the big leagues this summer.
