The Brisbane Bandits improved to 2-0 with a victory over the Canberra Cavalry in the second game of the 2017/2018 season in the Australian Baseball League.

Canberra had a 4-0 lead midway through the second, but Brisbane scored five unanswered runs to seal the comeback win. Travis Blackley struck out eight in five innings.

The other two games ended in blowouts. The Sydney Blue Sox scored in each of the first eight innings to beat the Adelaide Bite 10-1. Chih-Hsieng Chiang, Michael Suchy and Connor MacDonald hit home runs for the Blue Sox. Rodrigo Ayarza accounted for the lone Adelaide run with a solo shot.
