MLB will play in Mexico during the 2018 season
Major League Baseball (MLB) will return to Mexico with a regular season series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres from Friday, May 4 through Sunday, May 6 2018.
The games will be played at the former Estadio Monterrey, now Estadio Mobil Super, the home field of the Sultanes Monterrey. The facility has a capacity of 27,000 seats.
Monterrey, the Capital City of the north eastern State Nuevo Leon, has hosted MLB both in 1996 (Padres versus New York Mets) and 1999 (season opener between the Padres and the Colorado Rockies).
The Estadio Monterrey opened in 1990 for then called World Youth Baseball Championship (U-16) and hosted in 1991 some preliminary games of the Pan American Games.
During the Fall of 2016 the Estadio Monterrey hosted the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup.
