After Italy won the opener of the 2017 European Baseball Series against the Netherlands in Verona by a score of 3-2, they also came through with a 6-2 win on Saturday in Godo.

They built a quick 5-0 by scoring in four of the first five innings. Mattia Reginato hit a home run, Sebastiano Poma scored three times. Nicolo Clemente earned the win. Diegomar Markwell got charged with the loss.

On Sunday the Netherlands avoided the sweep with a 5-2 victory in Codogno. A four-run sixth inning helped the Dutch to decide the outcome, breaking a 1-1 tie. Mike Bolsenbroek received the win. Claudio Scotti took the loss.

The European Baseball Series between Italy and the Netherlands was played for the third time after 2006 and 2009.
