The Hoofddorp Pioniers have announced that Mervin Gario is succeeding De Flanegin as head coach for the Dutch Hoofdklasse club.

Gario made his Hoofdklasse debut for the Pioniers in 2008. After a stint with Corendon Kinheim he returned to Hoofddorp for the 2015 season.

Theo Geerman and Angelo Clemensia will be his respective first base coaches. Team manager Roger Kops is currently forming the roster for the 2018 season.
