After a 143 game regular season NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball) are ready for the first stage of their post season.

The so called Climax Series will take off on Saturday, 14 October. Number 2 and number 3 seeds of each league will play a best of 3 series to earn the right to challenge the first place team in a best of 7 series that qualifies the winner to the Nippon Series (start date: Saturday, 28 October).

The winner will advance to the Climax Series final against the Softbank Hawks baseball team.
