Ukrainian Open Championship 2017
- Purposes and tasks
The main goals of the competition are:
– baseball promotion in Ukraine;
– sport skills improving;
– healthy lifestyle and sport promotion among youth;
– best young players scouting for the National teams’ roster;
– improving of sport organizations’ work
– development of baseball in Ukraine.
- Dates and location
Ukrainian Open Championship 2017 is held according to the Ukrainian Sport Calendar 2017 from 06 May to 17 September 2017.
- Organization of the competition
General management of the Championship is held by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Baseball and Softball Federation (FBSU). Conduction of the championship lies with the head of the panel of judges which is approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and recommended by the FBSU.
- Competitors
Athletes of different sport associations, clubs, universities, and select teams from Ukrainian cities and regions can participate in the Open Championship. Team that participates in the championship must consistі of 30 members – 25 players and 5 members of coaching staff.
All participants of the Ukrainian Open Championship should have FBSU player card and also they must be necessarily insured. Player’s card is issued in 2 copies: one is for the FBSU and the second one is for the coach. All sportsmen should be at least 16 years old. The conditions under which younger players could participate in the competition are defined by the FBSU.
- Competition’s playing system
Ukrainian Open Championship 2017 is conducted according to the away games’ schedule.
- Program of the Championship
The program of the competition is determined by the main jury after receiving all applications of teams.
- Safety and training venue
Training venue and safety of participants and spectators during the competition is conducted in accordance with the decree №2025 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 18 December 1998.
The responsibility for the preparation (playground, public order, posters) and safety is bared by the chief judge and the clubs’ owners.
- Procedure for determining and awarding of the winners
Championship is conducted under the baseball competition rules. All winners are awarded with medals and diplomas of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine.
- Financing and material support of the participants
The costs associated with organization and conduction of the championship (diplomas and medals) and material security (stationery) are laid upon the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Ukraine. All costs associated with participation in the competition (food, accommodation, transport and per diem expenses) are taken upon sport clubs or organizations. All costs associated with supporting and judging of the competition is carried out under the conditions specified by FBSU.
- Terms and procedures for submitting of applications for participation
Teams – participants of the Ukrainian Open Championship must submit and register application letter in 3 copies to the FBSU. It must be made in terms established by the FBSU. This application must be certified by the club, special medical institution, and regional or municipal sport organization.
