During the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) General Assembly Aarhus, Denmark, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) was admitted as an Associate Member of ASOIF.

ASOIF serves as the umbrella organization for the world governing bodies of sports featured at the Summer Olympic Games.  ASOIF’s decision follows baseball and softball’s upcoming return to the Olympic Games in 2020.

World Baseball Softball leader Riccardo Fraccari, in attendance in Arhus, welcomed the news via Twitter.
