This year, Austrian baseball clubs will be able to take part in the Federations Cup championship that will take place beyond gaming calendar of a regular season.

Local baseball teams have already started preparations for the baseball season. Over the past two weekends federal championships and exhibition games against the German, Czech and Italian teams were held.

In addition it is planned to conduct preparatory games before the start of a baseball season. In Austria it is scheduled for the 21^st of April. Taking part in Federations Cup games clubs will have an opportunity to get additional points before the regular season starts. In autumn four best teams will compete in the finals and the winner will receive monetary reward.

Maximum six matches will be taken into account. They will be held between any two clubs of the league and will be conducted in the frameworks of the official ABF league. Each of these two clubs can choose only three games, results of which will be evaluated.
