2017 season getting underway in Major League Baseball
The 2017 season in Major League Baseball is getting underway. Three games are on the schedule on Opening Day – the Tampa Bay Rays are hosting the New York Yankees, the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the San Francisco Giants and defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs starts its campaign on the road against the St. Louis Cardinals.
European Baseball will have a couple of players in the big leagues this year. Germany’s Max Kepler of the Minnesota Twins looks to confirm his breakout season last summer. Dutch infielders Andrelton Simmons (Los Angeles Angels), Xander Bogaerts (Boston Red Sox) and Didi Gregorius (New York Yankees) are supposed to play key roles with their clubs as well. Gregorius needs to wait until May though after getting injured near the end of the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

Great start to the season! Good teams. Happy baseball is back. I think Shelby Miller will win the comeback player of the year because all he needs to do is have 9, 10 wins and an ok ERA since he is coming back from being an all-star to a minor league pitcher. Lots of good picks. I could definitely see the Braves being the surprise team this year. Last year Michael Fulmer won the ROY with the Tigers, I took Carson Fulmer of the White Sox.
So ready for opening day! So many analysts are down on the pirates this year! That’s what I like about sports, baseball specifically. You play the game! Most unpredictable sport on earth and that’s why I love baseball! Always someone different, not the same damn teams like in other leagues. I can’t wait to see my D-backs in action this year, we might not be great but they’re fun as hell to watch. And who knows, maybe they’ll improve this year.
Ahhh my most favorite time of the year. I’m a Phillies fan so all of them starters are my favorite, but outside of the team, my top 3 was always Kershaw, Fernandez, Scherzer. Can’t wait for 2017! Let’s go go Phillies!
