Zurich Barracudas sign Evan Brisentine
The Zurich Barracudas were busy in the offseason to bolster their roster for the 2017 season. The key signing is lefty pitcher Evan Brisentine who will solidify the top of the rotation. The native Californian pitched four years with the top notch Division 1 Santa Clara. After graduation Brisentine set off for Australia and dominated Victoria summer league.
The Barracudas also welcome back catcher Bert Marsnik to the team for the 2017 season. Marsnik was a mainstay in the Barracudas line up in 2014 and he adds a very solid bat and defense behind the dish.
In addition, the Barracudas were also busy signing National Team player Reto Cola who is coming back to the Swiss league after playing the last two seasons in Austria with the Dornbirn Indians. Cola is a solid all-around player who can play multiple positions, hits with power and can steal a few bases. He will be a great addition to the Barracudas 2017 team.
The Barracudas also signed 17 year old Dominican born shortstop Kevin Fermin de la Cruz who is a switch hitter with a ton of speed and will help solidify the Barracudas infield. Lastly, the Barracudas signed the brother duo of Jacen and Kyle Bracko, both come from the National team program.
