The Dominican Republic rebounded from their loss to Puerto Rico in the opener of the second round at the 2017 World Baseball Classic with a 3-0 shutout over Venezuela.
At the plate Gregory Polanco broke the scoreless tie with a solo home run in the fifth. Two innings later Welington Castillo scored on Robinson Cano’s RBI single to make it 2-0. Nelson Cruz sealed the win with a solo shot in the eighth.
