Right-handed pitcher Gary Michael Owens will join Heidenheim Heideköpfe and will play with this baseball club during season 2017. Currently, Gary Owens is the best better of the first South Bundesliga. Player left Stuttgart Reds club to join Heidenheim Heideköpfe.

After a successful career at Southern Polytechnic State University (2012 – 2014) 30-years-old American had been playing for three seasons in the American Independent baseball league. In 2015 Owens played for the first time in German club Bad Homburg Hornets (AVG .389/ OPS 1.204, 7 home runs, 11 stolen bases) and in 2016 Gary practically by himself led Stuttgart Reds  team to play-off (AVG .394/ OPS 1.211 and 8 home runs).

Owens will play for Heidenheim Heideköpfe team and will be also youth team coach. In addition he will work in the training center for top-class athletes.
