The Austrian Baseball Federation was officially included to the Olympic Committee of Austria (ÖOC) at the meeting of ÖOC, which was held in early March. Rainer Husty was personally congratulated by the President of the Committee, Karl Shtos.

Despite the fact Austria still does not pretend to medals representatives of the Austrian Baseball Federation recognize the importance of this event. The most important task for all athletes and officials is to support development of baseball and softball. Renewal in the Olympic family gives a great opportunity to increase the popularity of this great kind of sport.
