Khris Davis skips World Baseball Classic Johnny Cueto on verge
Oakland Athletics outfielder Khris Davis, who had been on the roster for Mexico, is skipping the World Baseball Classic to focus on Spring Training with the A’s. He hit 42 home runs and drove in 102 last seasons for Oakland. It’s his second season with the A’s.
Meanwhile Johnny Cueto is still on the roster of defending champion Dominican Republic. However, the right-handed pitcher is still in his home country to take care of his seriously ill father. Even though he is working out and throwing bullpens his employer, the San Francisco Giants, might force him to skip the WBC.
