ASD Rimini has signed 33-year-old Cuban second baseman and outfielder Maikel Caceres for the 2017 season in the Italian Baseball League. He follows in the footsteps of fellow Cubans Laidel Chapelli and Enorbel Marquez-Ramirez, who have played for the Pirates in the past.

Between 2007 and 2014 he played in the Cuban National Series for Holguin respective Avila and batted .307/.370/.397 in 639 games.
