This year the Austrian National Team U23 will take part in two European Championships. The qualification for an adult team will take place in Belgrade, Serbia. The Austrian National Team U23 will be the main baseball team. The Head Coach of the National Team, Clemens Cichocki will lead the program for U23 and will actively promote development of young athletes.

Beginning of the program will start from pre-launch training on 25-26 February in Attnang Puchheim. Also, Clemens Cichocki will promote the concept of young talents development for the National Team. Regardless of whether they will be in the final list of participants to the National Team or not, baseball players always should be in best physical preparation, generate their knowledge and skills and experience new training methods.

Considering experience of the previous years, instead of seminars, now the Austrian Baseball Federation send coaches of the National Team directly to young baseball players for training. Thus, they will have an opportunity to work with players and coaches from different baseball clubs. According to the new concept, preparation and personal approach will be better in familiar for players surroundings.

The next program is «All-Star Weeekend» games on Easter weekend, April 17. Also it will be hold the «Donaupokal» Cup on May 1^st in Bratislava. Additionally, to the trainings with coaches of the National Team it is also planned to create training camps.

The highlight of the season for the young players will be the European Championship U23 in Wales and Brno. The qualifying stage of competition will take place from 3 to 9 August.  And the tournament will begin on 11 August in Brno.

The “Finkstonball Tournament” will become the warm-up for adult team. The Head Coach of the National Team will be Hiroyuki Sakanasha, as it was before. The European Championship 2018 will take place in Germany. The qualification for the Austrian team will be in the city of Belgrade. And the tournament will take place in the capital of Serbia.
