This weekend at the Bundesliga meeting agreed the name for a newly created league: Austrian Baseball League now will be known as Baseball League Austria.

At the Bundesliga meeting (includes 10 teams and each of them has one vote) were also accepted restrictive conditions for all participants. Changing the league format was necessary because of the new format of the game and the possibility of confusion with the Austrian Basketball League or Australian Baseball League. The new name of the League – Baseball League Austria – was accepted unanimously.

The new format of League divides it into two divisions, with 5 teams in each division. Each team has to play 4 games against their division teams (Intradivision) and an additional two games against teams from the other division (Interdivision). So there are 26 games for each team.
