Players have already begun an active preparation for the 18th (!) season in the history of “Heidekopfe” in the first baseball Bundesliga. Jay Pecci, the former AAA-infielder and the assistant manager of Claus Ekle is the key player on the field – he will spend one more season with “Heidekopfe”. 40-year-old American of Italian origin is still in good trim and thus he has postponed his career finish at least until the next season.
Moreover, two German players, Philip Schulz (infielder/catcher) and Julius Spann (pitcher) have already confirmed that they will play in “Heidenheim”, despite the fact they received more favorable offers from other Bundesliga clubs. This year, they will try to win the Championship of Germany to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Heidekopfe” team.
Now, there are 6 German A-category players in the team. Simon Guhring(catcher), Sascha Lutz (outfielder), Shawn Larry (outfielder) and Johannes Krum (pitcher/infielder) are among them.
