Players of the German Baseball-Bundesliga will start games on the first weekends of April. In 2017, 15 teams will compete; two of these teams have reached the first division.

The “Dohren Wild Farmers” club (North Division) comes back to the first division while the “Hannover Regents” team will come to the North Division. In the South Division we will see the “Saarlouris Hornets” team. Such shift was caused by the fact that “Tubingen Hawks” has sunk in the scale to the second Bundesliga.

In season 2017, Bundesliga will also have long-awaited changes. There`s nothing about the restrictions of foreign players but still there are some innovations. First of all, the second baseball Bundesliga was merged with the Regional League.

In addition, in the first baseball Bundesliga, at the end of the regular season an extra round of competitions between leagues will be held (Interleagual- Runde). It will be for the best four teams from the North and South division. Thus, new table which contains results of the regular season (best four teams of north and south divisions) and results of Interleague-Rude will be created. After that, teams for quarterfinals are determined. And then, as always, semifinal and final games will be held.
