During last season, Raab brothers did not manage to show great game as baseball players during Bundesliga matches. Therefore, they leave the team.

In 2013, Marcel and Pascal Raab changed “Cologne Cardinals” team for “Mainz Athletics”. Pascal played on the position of pitcher, and per the coach, he is quite well-prepared pitcher of Bundesliga. Marcel was always utility player. During one game, he could change several positions – he could be a hitter, outfielder or infielder and to hit a run at a key moment. “I really appreciate him as a person and as a team member,” – the coach Uli Vermuth said.

Raab brothers had to prioritize as the difference between professional and elite sport became too much for them. “Mainz Athletics” team thanked players for games they had played and for everything these sportsmen have done for the team and club.
