Raily Legito retires from Active Career
After 18 active years the 38-year-old infielder Raily Legito of “Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam” has ended his playing career following the Holland Series against “L&D Amsterdam”. He is also the record national team player of the Netherlands with 249 games. With “Curacao Neptunus” he just won the fourth consecutive title and is finishing his career with eight league titles overall.
He made his debut in the Hoofdklasse for The Hague in 1999 and batted .323 during his career. In total he collected 817 hits and hit 48 home runs. With the national team Legito participated in the Olympic Games 2000, 2004 and 2008, five Baseball World Cups and the 2006 and 2009 World Baseball Classics.
