French Finals: Templiers Senart tie Series with nail-biter on Sunday
Rouen 002 000 320 7 10 1
Senart 010 300 112 8 11 2
The Templiers Senart have tied the best-of-five final series in the French Division I at 1-1. On Sunday Senart beat the Rouen Huskies 8-7 in a nail-biter with Nick Masonia providing the game-winner with a two-run walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth.
It was a back and forth battle in game two of the final series, as the lead switched five times throughout the contest. Arthur Paturel had given Rouen a 7-5 lead in the top of the eighth with a two-run single. However Pierrick Lemestre scored on a wild pitch in the eighth to cut the deficit to a run setting up the last-inning heroics.
Andrew Medeiros hit a home run for Rouen and drove in three. Paturel also finished the game with three RBI. Masonia had a solo home run besides his game-winning double as well. Lemestre finished with three hits and two runs. Matthieu Brelle-Andrade picked up the win in relief. Keino Perez got charged with the loss.
Rouen had prevailed in a 12-inning game one on Saturday. Games three to potential five will be played next weekend in Rouen.
