“Unipol Bologna”, “Rimini” reach Italian Baseball Series
“Unipol Bologna” and “ASD Rimini” will once again play in the Italian Baseball Series. It’s a rematch of last year’s championship series in the Italian Baseball League, where “Rimini” prevailed to claim the Scudetto. In the 2016 semi-finals both teams won their best-of-seven series 4-1.
“Bologna” captured the finals participation with a 6-2 win over “Angel Service Nettuno” on Wednesday. Previously they had won games one, two and four, while “Nettuno” claimed game three. Alex Sambucci and Alessandro Grimaudo combined for four RBI in the series clinching game.
“Rimini” won the local derby against “T&A San Marino”. “San Marino” had avoided a sweep by winning game four 3-2 on Tuesday. However the “Pirates” rebounded with a 12-5 victory on Wednesday to win the series. Carlos Richetti threw six one-hit innings for the win. Jairo Ramos and Federico Celli hit home runs.
