The Final Series between Athletic Sofia and Buffaloes Blagoevgrad suffered two rainouts as afternoon and early evening weather conditions in the Bulgarian capital in the past weekend did not allow for teams to complete a game. Saturday’s match-up was cancelled as a rain fueled storm hit ‘Oktomvri’ field during the bottom of the 3rd inning in a 6:3 affair in favour of the Buffaloes, while Sunday’s game was never able to start.

A number of games involving teams fighting for final positions outside of the top two did take place in early morning and noon hours with Sofia Blues sweeping the bronze medal series against the Akademiks Sofia.

The Finals Series will move to Blagoevgrad for the July 23+24 weekend where weather forecasts promise perfect conditions for Athletic and the Buffaloes to complete the first two games. The series will go back to the Bulgarian capital on July 30 +31 for games 3 and 4 (if needed).
