In Minsk the WBSC executive director, Michael Schmidt, reported that Belarusian baseball players will receive diversified help and support of the World Baseball Softball Confederation. According to Mr. Schmidt, who had a working visit to Minsk, local sportsmen have really great potential and opportunity to progress. So they should do their best to publicize and develop this kind of sport primarily among pupils.

It goes without saying that baseball in Belarus is not so popular now. Although, if one finds a way to promote it and engages youth it will bring success for sure. WBSC representatives stressed, that the main thing is to elaborate a good strategy and implement it. As of International Confederation it will provide support to their Belarusian baseball colleges.

Baseball equipment is one of the main problems as it is too expensive. But in the nearest future Belarusian Baseball Association (BBA) will receive new baseball clothes and equipment for children. Furthermore, Michael Schmidt added it`s not a one-time campaign. Their collaboration with Belarusian sportsmen will be continuous one. And such cooperation will bear fruits in future.

Development of baseball in Belarus has been starting in 1990. Belarusian teams still have no high results on the international arena. Anyway, they constantly take part not only in national competitions, but in continental tournaments as well.
